Poem: This Artless Love of Mine

This artless love of mine;
unabashed and unpolished
None of the social artifices
can mask this hope.

No, I’d much rather
wear it like a gleaming
strand of pearls
about my neck.

Just as my heart rests
on my rolled up sleeve.
I’ll hide nothing
not if you inquire.
